A. Effective from and after June 30, 1968, this article shall be amended, and employees employed after June 30, 1968, shall be covered by the provisions of the public safety retirement personnel system in those cities which have established a pension system under the provisions of this article prior to the effective date of this section, subject to the right of election provided for in § 38-854.
B. All funds accumulated and all liabilities for benefits created by authority of title 9, chapter 8, article 2, §§ 9-911 to 9-934, inclusive, through June 30, 1968, shall be transferred to the fund maintained under the public safety personnel retirement system on July 1, 1968, and accounted for by each employer. Each employee employed after June 30, 1968, shall be covered by the provisions of the public safety personnel retirement system which continues and amends this section.
