Arizona Revised Statutes Title 9. Cities and Towns § 9-924. Payment of pensions

Pensions shall be paid from the fund in cases specified in this section and §§ 9-925 through 9-928. It is the intention to restrict the operation of this article to situations not covered by the workers' compensation law  1 and to prohibit payments from the fund to persons receiving, or for whose benefit there is being paid, compensation under the workers' compensation law. This limitation shall not apply to a retired member who suffers an occupational disease, or an injury or death as the result of an industrial accident arising out of employment after retirement.
