A. The department of state is established and shall be composed of the office of the secretary of state.
B. The secretary of state shall have charge of and direct the department of state.
C. Except as otherwise provided by law, employees of the department are subject to chapter 4, article 4 and, as applicable, articles 5 and 6 of this title. 1
D. Purchases and contracts for goods and services in the amount of $150,000 or less that are entered into by the Arizona state library, archives and public records are exempt from chapter 23 of this title. 2
E. The Arizona state library, archives and public records is exempt from chapter 6 of this title. 3
