A. Except as otherwise provided by law, a disinterment-reinterment permit is required before a person disinters human remains. The state registrar shall provide a permit to disinter human remains either by a court order issued in this state or by the written consent of the decedent's family member who has the highest priority. The order of priority is the same as provided in § 36-831.
B. A disinterment-reinterment permit is not required if disinterment and reinterment occur in the same cemetery for ordinary relocation or for reasons of internal management of the cemetery.
