A. The board of supervisors of two or more counties or the board of directors of two or more county jail districts may enter into contracts or agreements pursuant to § 11-952.01 to jointly purchase insurance or to pool retention of their risks for inmate health care and to provide for the payment of claims made against any member of the pool on a cooperative or contract basis with one another or may jointly form a nonprofit corporation or enter into a trust agreement to carry out the provisions of this section on their behalf directly or by contract with a private party.
B. An inmate health insurance pool established pursuant to this section may only provide coverage for inmate health services.
