A. The director may designate as custodian of the department's public records as many employees of the department as the director deems necessary.
B. A person who requests a copy of or information from a public record designated pursuant to § 28-447 shall present personal identification and state the reason for making the request. The department shall verify the name and address of the person making the request by requiring the person to produce information the department determines is necessary to ensure that the name and address of the person are the person's true name and address.
C. The department may supply the requested information by mail or electronically.
D. The department shall maintain a file of requests for information for six months. The department shall maintain the file by the name of the person whose record was requested.
