Fraternal benefit societies are governed by this article and are subject to and governed by the following articles and sections of this title to the extent that the articles and sections apply to the societies and are not modified by the provisions of this article:
1. Chapter 1, articles 1 and 2 of this title. 1
2. Chapter 2, article 1 of this title, 2 except that §§ 20-209 through 20-214, 20-224, 20-224.01, 20-224.02, 20-225, 20-226, 20-227 and 20-229 do not apply to fraternal benefit societies.
3. Sections 20-501 through 20-505 and 20-511 through 20-514.
4. Chapter 3, article 2 of this title, 3 except that § 20-535, § 20-536, subsections B and C and § 20-556, paragraphs 4 and 6 do not apply to limitations with respect to monies invested in real property for home or branch office purposes.
5. Chapter 3, article 4 of this title. 4
6. Chapter 3, article 8 of this title. 5
7. Sections 20-1110, 20-1111, 20-1115, 20-1133 and 20-1135.
8. Section 20-1408.
