If there is more than one surety and one or more of them has failed to pay his proportionate part of the judgment, execution may issue, as provided in § 12-1643, against the principal for the use of the surety who has paid more than his proportionate part for the whole amount paid by him, and interest thereon, and also against his cosureties for their proportionate parts of the excess paid by him, and interest thereon.
