Arkansas Code Title 6. Education § 6-64-409. Family practice department

(a) It is the intent of the General Assembly that the program in family practice at the University of Arkansas College of Medicine have full departmental status and that a member of the medical faculty of this department be a voting member of the Admissions Board for the University of Arkansas College of Medicine.

(b) It is the recommendation of the General Assembly that the faculty members of the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine of the University of Arkansas College of Medicine provide counseling services to any student at the institution at the request of the individual student.

(c) The Dean of the University of Arkansas College of Medicine shall submit a report, through the offices of the Chancellor for Health Sciences and the President of the University of Arkansas, to the Governor and to the cochairs of the Legislative Council no later than September 1 of each year and covering the period of the preceding fiscal year, in which information shall be furnished as to the number of interns and residents in the various medical school programs, the number who completed the family practice program, the places where those who completed the various programs are practicing, including those in the military services, and any problems encountered in the education of students, interns, or residents in the family practice program which should be considered by the General Assembly, the Governor, or the Legislative Council.
