(a) The board of directors shall appoint an executive director of the authority.
(b) The executive director shall be paid a salary to be determined by the board of
directors. The executive director shall be responsible for managing and administering the daily
functions of the authority and for performing any and all other functions necessary
or helpful for the effective functioning of the authority, together with all other
functions and powers as may be delegated to him by the board. The executive director may, with the authorization of the board of directors, employ
support staff as deemed necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of
(c) The chairman of the board shall serve as temporary director of the authority until
appointment of the executive director pursuant to this section.
