(a) The commission may examine the affairs of a residential service company as necessary. For the purpose of an examination, the commission may administer an oath to and examine an officer or agent of the residential service company.
(b) A residential service company shall:
(1) make available for the examination its books and records relating to its operation; and
(2) facilitate the examination in every way.
(c) Information prepared or compiled by the commission relating to an examination conducted under this section, including the examination file, is confidential and exempt from disclosure under Chapter 552, Government Code. The commission may withhold the information without the necessity of requesting a decision from the attorney general under Subchapter G, Chapter 552, Government Code. 1
