(a) Township commissioners may attend each annual meeting and educational conference of the State association of township commissioners. The board of commissioners shall, by motion, designate at least one township officer as a delegate to each annual meeting and educational conference. The delegate shall be a township commissioner or other township officer. The board of commissioners may, by motion, designate no more than two township officers, other than the township commissioners or the delegate, to attend each annual meeting and educational conference as nondelegates and authorize township employees to attend each annual meeting and educational conference.
(b) In addition to each annual meeting and educational conference as specified under subsection (a), the board of commissioners may authorize township officers and employes of the township to attend other conferences or educational training of the association.
