The court of appeals shall fix the compensation of the members of the state board of law examiners appointed by it as provided by section fifty-six of this chapter. The court of appeals may provide and furnish proper and suitable quarters for said board in the court of appeals hall or authorize it to procure the same elsewhere in the city of Albany; and may authorize said board to appoint and remove a clerk, a stenographer and other necessary employees whose compensation shall be fixed by the court. The compensation of members of said board, and of the clerk, stenographer and other employees of the board shall be fixed within the amount annually provided by appropriation. All such compensation and expenses shall be paid after audit by and upon the warrant of the comptroller in the manner provided by law.
