New York Consolidated Laws, Judiciary Law - JUD § 166. Power of supreme court justices in first judicial district to appoint attendants for supreme court

Current as of January 01, 2021 | Updated by FindLaw Staff

Each of the justices of the supreme court in the first judicial district shall appoint and at pleasure remove four attendants upon the court.  Each of said attendants may also be removed by the appellate division, but not until he has been informed of the cause of the proposed removal and has been allowed an opportunity to make an explanation.
