1. Any member who is eligible to receive benefits under the local government employees' retirement system and who retires after August 28, 1993, and who is also eligible to receive benefits under the provisions of sections 56.800 to 56.840 shall receive benefits under sections 56.800 to 56.840 which are reduced by the amount received from the local government employees' retirement system.
2. Any member who retires after August 28, 1999, shall receive benefits pursuant to sections 56.800 to 56.840 which are reduced by one-third of the amount received from the local government employees' retirement system.
