The board of trustees may procure insurance to cover dismemberment or death and the reasonable hospital, medical and surgical expenses incurred by, or on behalf of, any student enrolled at a school as a result of injuries sustained while participating, practicing or training for participation in athletic or interscholastic sports program of the school.
