Kansas Statutes Chapter 46. Legislature § 46-1501. Legislative information system; supervision and operation by revisor of statutes; function and scope of system

In accordance with any instructions given by the legislative coordinating council and as provided in this act, the revisor of statutes shall introduce in phases and supervise or operate, or both supervise and operate as may be appropriate, a comprehensive legislative information system. Such system shall initially be operated to accomplish computer search of existing statutes of Kansas and computer preparation of legislative bills and resolutions. In succeeding years, as may be convenient, such system shall encompass computer preparation of the following:

(a) Statutory search;

(b) search of other documents;

(c) bill and resolution preparation;

(d) printing (outside the office of revisor of statutes) of bills, resolutions and other documents within the legislative branch;

(e) preparation of such legislative documents as journals, calendars, bill locators, bill indexes and research materials;

(f) cathode ray tube display of any of the foregoing;

(g) preparation of session laws, statutes and other books;  and

(h) printing (outside the office of revisor of statutes) of any or all of the foregoing.
