Illinois Statutes Chapter 20. Executive Branch § 415/8b.17. Trainee programs

§ 8b.17. For trainee programs, and for the appointment of persons to positions in trainee programs, hereinafter called “trainee appointments”. Trainee appointments may be made with or without examination, with consideration of the needs of Illinois residents, but may not be made to positions in any class that is not in a trainee program approved by the Director of Central Management Services. Trainee programs will be developed with consideration of the need for employees with linguistic abilities or cultural knowledge. The Director shall work with the Department of Human Services and the Department of Employment Security in trainee position placements for those persons who receive benefits from those Departments. Persons who receive trainee appointments do not acquire any rights under jurisdiction B of the Personnel Code  1 by virtue of their appointments.
